Rosemary

Retired in 1992 from Kentucky tourism, was resident proprietor of an antiques/herbs/art store in a renovated, century old country store. Then, health concerns and economy convinced her she should abandon her 14-year home-business and re-retire to other reasonable housing. Local friends suggested she consider Nazareth Villages. She applied, waiting several months for cozy, well-constructed, secure, second-floor rooms that became her home in 2006, her 31st residence. Daily life was eased by the Sisters Three, and a capable, dependable staff. Rosemary began photographing events for Villages’ yearly albums and shared knitting, beading and Dominoes in sessions of the Village Crafters. She trimmed five pounds and blood pressure by walking the historic campus, and by adopting a small Cupid’s Garden in sight of her windows. Learning from new friends of all ages, PBS cable or the handy Bookmobile, Rosemary urges nutritious meals, relaxes by knitting to beautiful music. Now, after upgrading her kitchen, her rooms decorated by personal art, photos and favorite books, she enjoys sharing it with attentive neighbors, friends, two sons, daughter-in-law and three grandboys of hometown Louisville.
