Jean Culver

Village Resident

very well-known to staff and residents of The Villages, moved here in 2004, after it was suggested by a good friend. She had lived at Culvertown, off 31E in the New Haven area. Mother of a son and daughter, Jean has four grandsons and one great granddaughter. She finds her residence “just great, affordable, safe, clean, very friendly and a fine Christian place.” Though she is known as an ardent, all-weather walker, for the “peace of mind of being in nature,” she is model-trim because of it. Jean is one of the busiest people around: she is president of the Residents’ Organization, is among the first to slip cards of welcome under doors of newcomers or those who are ill or down in spirit, Jean loves to read Christian literature and fiction, coordinates our holiday meals, has enjoyed crocheting for 40 years, leads the Wednesday evening Bible Study group, often volunteering to assist Nazareth-area needy and handicapped. She practices what is preached. Jean admits she misses her lovely gardens of the past, but enjoys frequent walks around the well-planted and maintained gardens of Nazareth. With a handy tree guide often in hand, she acquaints herself with the 1,200 species of trees along her relaxing, spiritual walking path.
