Ann Bell

Villager

Born in Sonora, near Elizabethtown, Kentucky, has two sons, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. When her family moved to Louisville in 1948, she attended Portland Elementary School, then Christian High School. Her English teacher is fondly remembered as her favorite. Later, Ann worked for the Preston Street Bob Evans Restaurant, in Louisville, and moved to American Village when she retired in 2000. A neighbor had told her about Nazareth Villages and she moved here in July of 2008. A member of Wickland Baptist Church, Ann regularly enjoys meetings of the Villages weekly Bible Study group. She volunteers at LifeLine Center and serves as treasurer of The Villages Residents’ Organization. A “friend indeed”, she recently assisted with hair styling and cosmetic application to a nervous neighbor who was to be in her brother’s wedding party. The main things she likes about her Village I apartment are “the security, beautiful surroundings, the dedicated sisters and how they have so many activities for us and the way they keep the place clean. I am most thankful for the larger sink of the kitchen remodeling, and being able to walk around the beautiful grounds.” Very ill in 2000, Ann believes her strong faith was what aided in speeding her recovery, so she “loves helping people” in return. She is “most grateful to have this wonderful place.”
